Dr. Zaius and the Chimps

Los Rauncheros, long known as Houston's premier surf/psycho-delic/sixties/blues band, has finally done it. In a psychotic yet inspired episode of musical chaos, Los Rauncheros has given birth to the mad, mute, monkey love child of Dick Dale and Jim Morrison. The name of their new creation is Dr. ZAIUS AND THE CHIMPS, a band dedicated to the crashing reverb drenched sounds of the instrumental surf invasion. Not another cover band, but an homage to the all instrumental surf sound that ruled the waves before Los Beatles hit the shores. Dr. ZAIUS AND THE CHIMPS feature the same wild jungle jams that you know and love as LOS RAUNCHEROS, played with the same Rauncherian abandon, but now focused entirely on the classic, instrumental surf song stylings of the Chantays, the Ventures, Dick Dale, the Surfaris AND MORE.
